It's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality

ike Stated below are the lyrics for the song 'I write sins not tragedies' by Panic! at the disco obtained from www.lyrics.com. At least these are the original lyrics.
"Oh, well imagine; as I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor,
and I can't help but to hear, no I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words.
"What a beautiful wedding!", "What a beautiful wedding!" says a bridesmaid to a waiter.
"And yes, but what a shame, what a shame, the poor groom's bride is a whore."

I'd chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of...oh.

Well in fact, well I'll look at it this way, I mean technically our marriage is saved
Well this calls for, a toast so, pour the champagne
Oh! Well in fact, well I'll look at it this way, I mean technically our marriage is saved
Well this calls for a toast, so pour the champagne, pour the champagne. ("yes")

I'd chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing
the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.

Again...

I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!" No.
It's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.

Again..."

Ok. The lyrics are perfectly ok. But I'd like to bring to your attention the chorus of the song.

"I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!" No.
It's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality
The first line says: "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?! No."

Ok, I'm not sure whether it's the censorship ministry's bullshit policy or hitz.fm/fly.fm's retarded sense of humour. If you pay attention to the lyrics when this song is played on air, they censored the word 'god' so it would sound like this:

"Haven't you people ever heard of closing the ---- damn door?! No."

Can somebody tell me the rationale behind this? You censor the word 'god' instead of the logical choice - 'damn'. Is there a problem with the ministry's censorship guideline or is it just me? What the fuck is wrong with the word 'god'?! Not as if you'd censor all the 'Allah' words in your malay songs anyway. If you're not happy with what I said, sue me for being a racist. I don't care.

Fai, I believe they censored the word 'god' simply because 'god damn' connotes a bit of a disregard for religion. In other words, they didn't censor the word 'god' because of the word alone but because of what the two words mean collectively.

ANYWAY, it should be 'god damnED'.
